After last weeks trip home, I got to thinking. While I call, and we chat, I don't gerenally have any exciting news. Its just same old, same old, life. But while it doesn't seem exciting to me, you guys probably don't know what goes on in my same old, same old life anymore. So, taking advantage of technology and the fact that I love to read others blogs - I thought, what the heck. If I write it down here, I can't forget to tell you about it...lol.
Without further ado, our most recent excitment - Tim Cleaned the House! While I tease, he did actually clean and proved it to me by sending photos. Which means I immediately emailed them out - between the two of us who knows how long it'll stay that way...I mean...ok, yea, we're not always the neatest folks around.
March 1 we moved into ~1000 square feet in La Mesa, California. We've finally set up all the furniture we currently own, which only leaves three rooms unfurnished, plus the backyard. Here's where we currently stand:
This is your view as you walk into the house. You enter into the living room with the Dining room in front of you. I tried to create an entry way, on your right. I'll show more pictures of that over the weekend, I still have a couple more pieces to purchase at Ikea.
Here's the living room. That's Dunn on the couch by the way. At 6 years old, he's the oldest of our furry friends. We still have a few things to do in here, we'd like to mount the TV and the candle holder and everntually get a new couch or at least an occasional chair...and probably some new lighting.
I was hoping that when I asked Tim for a photo of the bedroom he'd be able to capture more than just the bed. Ah well, I'll have to work on communicating my directions a bit better, but I did just buy new bedding...unfortunately he pulled up the old comforter which means you don't get to see it yet. There's one off center window in this room, and I'd actually like to hide it by creating a whole wall of curtains with a blackout liner. We'll have to see, and yes, that's the TV sitting on plastic bins. It'll be moved to the top of the dresser that is just out of the frame to the left of Tim as he took the photo.
Our next house priority is actually the backyard as we're looking to host a bunch of people for a cookout for Tim's birthday June 2nd. We've got a giant pepper tree out back with a nicely leveled piece of land that the landlord used to have a swing on. We're going to put a picinic table-esque set up there. I have the inspiration photo and we found a reasonably priced table with two benches in Redwood ($100, plus a little if we want them to stain it). I'll show you that soon enough.
I know I sent these photos home yesterday, but now you're up to date, and I have a starting point. Talk to you tomorrow.
